Kelly Clarkson took the phase for “Kellyoke” on Tuesday, bloody tears and all, to put out her own performance of Olivia Rodrigo‘s single, “Vampire.”

When talking to Wanderer in Junethe Guts singer-songwriter opened about the tune’s motivation. “I simply took a seat at the piano one day and played these chords that felt type of gothic to me,” stated Rodrigo. “I believe there’s a great deal of vampire tradition to be had fun with like ‘You just come out during the night’ and pack like that. There’s a great deal of enjoyable songwriting fodder therein.”
She included: “I believe it shows the journey that I was going through and the anger that gets pent up in an experience like the one that the tune’s about.”
