Some fights end in tears, or shocked shock. When Eli Ward and Jason Arcilla went head-to-head Tuesday night (Oct. 31) on NBC‘s The Voicethey covered it up with laughter, like 2 old friends capturing up, splitting open a couple of cold ones.

The Team Gwen set took on Bread‘s “Make It With You,” bringing their own style to the corny pop-rock number which led the Billboard Hot 100 for a single week in 1970.
“Gwen, what a tune option,” John Legend said. The efficiency was “so like enjoyable and emotional” and “you got these good-looking gentlemen to serenade you,” he quipped. The lads were smooth, Legend acknowledged. Arcilla had a “gentleness” of tone, he continued. And Ward,: I enjoyed how positive and in command you felt the entire time.” If he needed to pick, Legend would agree Ward.
“You guys sounded terrific together, you were having a good time,” mentioned fellow coach Reba McEntire. “I enjoyed the little choreography relocations.” If she needed to select, she ‘d choose Ward.
Niall Horan was impressed with Ward’s “’50s fulfills ’70s” smoothness– and his biceps (the Waterloo, IL local is a Division I professional athlete at the University of Iowa with the cross-country track group). “Your tone is truly pure and timeless.” Arcilla, the 34-year-old who resides in Pukalani, Hawaii, has “an etherealness” to his voice. It’s a hard option. If the Irishman needed to make it, he would lean ever so somewhat in the instructions of Arcilla.
Stefani needed to make it, and she wasn’t pleased about it. “This is difficult today,” she said. “I have absolutely no, absolutely no concept of what to do now.” After applauding both vocalists, and mentioning on their development throughout the contest, she chose a winner, somebody who is “prepared right today.”
Which was Arcilla.
In the consequences, the No Doubt vocalist discussed her choice. “Jason has the sort of voice that has this breathy, airy, tranquil quality that I would really listen to on a record. I believe that he’s simply truly talented.”
